Chat GPT

Chat GPT is a large language model developed by OpenAI that uses deep learning algorithms to generate human-like text based on user instructions. The “GPT” in Chat GPT stands for “Generative Pre-Trained Transformer”, which refers to the model’s architecture and training method. Unlike rule-based chatbots that rely on predefined scripts and decision trees, ChatGPT can generate responses based on understanding natural language patterns and context. GPT also helps create more seamless, intuitive interactions in the digital world.

Google has released new details about its Universal Speech Model (USM), a system the firm describes as a “critical first step” toward realizing its goals as it moves closer to its goal of establishing an AI language model that includes 1,000. Google is building different AI languages to overcome ChatGPT.

In November last year, the company announced plans to create a language model that would support the world’s 1,000 most spoken languages, while also revealing its USM model. According to the tech giants, USM is a collection of sophisticated speech models with 2 billion parameters trained on 12 million hours of conversation and 28 billion words in more than 300 different languages.

Chat GPT

Google said the USM used on YouTube can perform automated speech recognition (ASR) in under-resourced languages, including Amharic, Cebuano, Assamese and Azerbaijani. “The development of USM is a critical step towards realizing Google’s mission to collect and access all of the world’s knowledge. USM’s underlying model architecture and training pipeline provide, in our opinion, a solid platform on which conversational modelling can be extended to the next 1,000 languages,” Google said in a blog post.

Automatic speech recognition (ASR) has two challenges, according to Google, including the difficulty of traditional supervised learning approaches to scale and models that need to be improved in a computationally efficient manner as business language coverage and quality increase.
